Graphic Designer and CSC student Candace Gerard (Chinese name lú kǎidí 卢凯迪) produced a character analysis report on the character 美 (měi), based on her research and observations on a recent CSC immersion trip to Flushing, NYC!
The 33-page report features photos, infographics, an analysis of different Chinese calligraphic styles, and much more. You can download the full report PDF here. Great work, Kǎidí!

CSC and our very own Lǐ Lǎoshī were featured on Shanghai Dragon TV (东方卫视)! Here is a translated introduction:
The Shanghai Dragon TV US Reporting Team spent half a year visiting fifteen US states and dozens of cities, interviewing students, teachers, and advocates of Chinese language and culture of all sectors of society. The result is the three-part documentary “The China Puzzle,” which will broadcast on Febuary 5, 2023, Lantern Festival, as part of Dragon TV’s “Crossover” program.
Here’s a sneak peak. Let us take you to the state of Ohio to meet Li Laoshi of The Columbus School of Chinese. His Chinese is more standard than many Chinese people. He’s an instructor at a training center that specializes in teaching Chinese. Let’s see how he teaches Chinese to Americans!
